years married to my high school sweetheart
When my son was born I was inspired to finally learn to do this thing called photography. Like most new moms, I wanted to document his life with real, meaningful photos of our everyday life.
I became so obsessed that before I knew it, I was taking classes and reading tutorials nonstop, just trying to get better and better. My family and friends started asking me to take photos for them, then their friends started reaching out to me... and well, here we are. For me, photography has been one of my greatest blessings. I now get to do this job that I never even imagined myself doing, and I love it with my whole heart. I am so lucky to have found my passion. It brings me such joy photographing special moments for other families so that someday they can have all those warm fuzzy feelings looking back on the memories that I helped them capture.
I'm Ashley! Mother to one wacky five year old and a sweet baby girl, wife to my high-school sweetheart (I've known my hubby since middle school, you guys... he's a keeper), "foodie", interior decor lover, planner hoarder (seriously, I don't even understand it myself), and photographer.
My story is unlike many other photographers. My love for photography started long before I ever picked up a camera. As a child, I loved looking through my mom's photo albums. Flipping through the pages and hearing all the stories behind the photos gave me all those warm fuzzy feelings. While I have always loved and appreciated photography; it never occured to me that I could do it as a job. It was never what came to mind when I was asked what I wanted to be "when I grew up".
Years capturing other beautiful families!
My enneagram number. (I just learned what this is lol!)
Alexander, my goofy boy - he always keeps me smiling and gives the best snuggles! Lina, my sweet, silly girl with curly hair who makes everyone laugh. And that handsome guy next to me is my husband Aldo, my BFF since age 11, hubby of 9 years, the best Dad to our children, and biggest supporter I could have ever asked for.
Being a Michigan girl, Traverse City holds a special place in my heart. From the white sandy beaches, to the charcuterie boards full of goodies at the wineries on Mission Peninsula, and the quaint downtown area with unique restaurants and shops... this city will always be my choice for a quick weekend getaway!
